The indoor pool at the Racquet Club has significant historical value given that it is the first pool in the country to be constructed above the ground floor.
Horace Trumbauer, the architectural pioneer that orchestrated its construction in 1907, designed it as a lounge pool for members. The pool is equally as long as it is wide (35′ x 35′) which provides ample space casual swimming and calisthenic exercise. Many members utilize the pool for a quick dip after a hard workout in the Fitness Center or after a steam in the connecting men’s locker room.
The pool is welcome to be used by both our male and female members.
