Affinity Clubs

Affinity clubs are smaller member run groups within the club that share a common interest. Affiliation with these groups is open to all members and their spouses.

Our affinity clubs that meet regularly are the Wine Club, Bridge Club, Sailing Association, Backgammon Club, Outdoors Club, and Community Service Club.

The Wine Club holds a meeting every second Wednesday of the month and highlights specific varietals or regions.  For just $10 per meeting, members can improve their palate and develop superior wine knowledge.
The Bridge Club has a devoted following and it’s members take over several tables most Monday evenings in the 1889 Pub & Grille. Advanced players are delighted to educate newcomers and welcome all members to join them.
Over the course of the year, the RCSA offers events for all levels of sailors on the Delaware River, Chesapeake Bay, New York Harbor, and Newport, RI. Members from the club often sail in small groups on Tuesday nights on the Delaware which continues throughout the summer. A larger regatta takes place on the Chesapeake, typically in Rock Hall or Annapolis, MD, in September.
The world’s oldest board game, invented in 3000 B.C. by the Persians, is played by many members at The Racquet Club. Members can be seen playing pick-up games in The Gold Leaf Cafe, The 1889 Pub & Grille, and in the locker room.  The Backgammon Club meets the first Thursday of the month and welcomes newcomers to their meetings.
The newly organized Outdoor Club will coordinate group trips to go shooting, hunting, camping, hiking, and fishing in New Jersey and western Pennsylvania. Local venues such as Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and M&M Hunting Preserve in New Jersey offer “sporting clays”, a form of clay pigeon shooting practiced on a course consisting of 10 to 15 shooting stations on various types of terrain. Camping and fishing trips will also be organized on the northern Delaware River and nearby tributaries. Equipment is not provided by the Club, but rentals will be organized as needed.
The Racquet Club membership prides itself giving back to the community through organized philanthropic events.  Throughout the year, the club organizes on-site and off-site events that cater to helping the homeless, less fortunate, and others in need.
