In keeping with the tradition and decorum of The Racquet Club, members and guests are required to follow the dress code at all times while in the Clubhouse.

Smart Casual dress is acceptable in all areas of the Clubhouse with the exception of Member events that are advertised as requiring business casual or formal attire. Smart Casual attire is regarded as clothing that is in neat, modern office attire, yet relatively informal in style.

All children in the Clubhouse are expected to be appropriately attired and children over the age of twelve are required to conform to the dress code.

Although guidelines are provided below, more formal dress is always encouraged.

Acceptable Attire

Collared shirt, Polo shirt, Sweater, Blouse, Khakis, Slacks, Jeans (free of holes, fading, and fraying), Skirts/Dresses, Loafers, Boat Shoes, Leather Sandals, Bermuda Shorts (only between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Shorts are to be in good, presentable condition).

Not Permitted

T-shirt (except in fitness facilities), Hooded sweatshirt, Sweatpants, Spandex, Halter Tops, Cargo pants, Denim shorts, Sneakers (except in fitness facilities), Flip flops, Hats (acceptable only while in use in athletic exercise).

Enforcement

Employees and managers are authorized to enforce the dress code in all areas of the Clubhouse.  Management has final discretion with regard to the appropriateness of attire within the Clubhouse.

Athletic Apparel

Athletic apparel is only permitted in the Club’s athletic facilities which include the Fitness Center, Fitness Studio, Locker Rooms, Pool, Squash Courts, Court Tennis Court, and the Racquets Court.  Members and guests are permitted to enter and exit the Clubhouse from the Sydenham Street entrance while wearing athletic apparel.

Members and guests participating in the Club’s racquet sports are required to wear athletic shirts, shorts, or pants that are at least 80% white.  Protective eye-wear and non-marking sneakers are required at all times (although protective eye-wear is not required for Court Tennis, it is encouraged).
