2015 Sailing Season Opener

In association with the Independence Seaport Museum and the Philadelphia Yacht Squadron the Racquet Club Sailing Association presents the 2015 Sailing Season Opener featuring An Evening with Gary Jobson!  This is also the kickoff to our new Speaker Series at the Club.

Celebrating the sport of sailing, Mr. Jobson’s presentation includes a history of the America’s Cup, a look ahead to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and an exclusive preview of ESPN’s “30 for 30” film which chronicles the 1979 Fastnet Race.

Gary Jobson is a world class sailor, television commentator, and author of 18 books on sailing. He won the America’s Cup in 1977 as tactician for Ted Turner.

He is Editor-at-Large of Sailing World and Cruising World magazines and is a Vice President of the International Sailing Federation. Jobson received awards for his coverage of the 34th America’s Cup, the Olympic Games in South Korea, and the 2006 Volvo Ocean Race.

Please note: Tickets for the After Party at the Armory and Early Bird Special package tickets can only be purchased through The Philadelphia Yacht Squadron. RSVPs may be made directly through the Club if you are planning on attending only the Gary Jobson speaking engagement.
